AT for Independence

October 2, 2024
11a.m. - 12p.m.

Empowerment through assistive technology! Independence is not just a goal; it's a fundamental right, and assistive technology can help break down barriers and foster autonomy. In this webinar, we'll delve into assistive technologies specifically engineered to enhance independence across various aspects of life. Whether you're an individual seeking to reclaim your independence, a caregiver supporting a loved one's journey, or a professional in the field of assistive technology, this webinar will explore the ways assistive technology fosters independence. Presented by Shawn Bateman, AT Reuse & Access Coordinator.

Presented by Stephen Polacek, Director of IT Accessibility Policy and Programs, and James Whiteny, AT Clinician.

Hosted by AT Financial Loan Program Director, Heather Ferguson and Loan Administrator, Sarah Calhoun.

Funding Home Modifications

December 4, 2024
2p.m. - 3p.m.

Home Modifications are physical changes to a home that make them safer and more functional for someone with a disability. This can include the installation of a ramp, stair lift or roll-in shower, or smaller things like expandable door hinges or grab bars. Home Modifications are often necessary for people to be able to remain in their own homes, rather than moving to an assisted living facility. This webinar will focus on resources that can help people in Maryland get home modifications when paying for them is difficult. Presented by Nora Walker, AT & Public Health Coordinator.
