Training for Case Managers
Sharing Resources and Past Training Videos
Case managers assisting clients transitioning to the community often have questions about the process as well as additional resources that their client may benefit from. Attending the MPAH Case Management Calls is one helpful resource. The Google Meets and call-in information for these monthly meetings is listed below.

MDOD also maintains a Slack meeting area for case managers to share resources. We also offer training on a variety of topics, including emergency preparedness, behavioral health, reasonable accommodations and fair housing, and general overviews of the housing programs that the Department oversees. Recordings of past webinars are available on our YouTube Channel:
Our team also conducted an overview of Fair Housing Laws.
Rental Housing Program Documents
We offer two valuable tools for case managers helping their clients: My Own Front Door (a tenant training manual) and the Section 811 Case Management Manual. Program participants are required to complete tenant training after moving into their unit. Our team trains case managers on how to conduct this training and there are more detailed training videos on this process on the MDOD YouTube Channel.
Please visit our document library for digital versions of these tools and a helpful PowerPoint overview of the reasonable accommodation process.
