TTY to TTY

​TTY-to-TTY direct calling is available, and does not require the service of a Maryland Relay Operator. There are two ways for a TTY user to connect to another TTY user.

  • Dial the other TTY user’s number directly.
  • Dial 7-1-1 or 800-735-2258 to call a person who uses both a TTY and a standard telephone. If the other person answers by phone, the Maryland Relay Operator will relay the call. If the person answers by TTY, the Operator will connect you, then release the call.
