MCOD is seeking new Commissioners
The Maryland Commission on Disabilities (MCOD) is seeking applications from people with disabilities who are leaders in their communities. Parents or foster parents of people with disabilities are also welcome to apply. Specific knowledge of issues affecting people with disabilities, such as housing, employment, education, health care or transportation, is desirable, but not required. The most important quality of a Commissioner is a desire to serve the community and improve the lives of Marylanders with disabilities.
MCOD’s Commissioners are appointed by the Governor for three-year terms. This commitment will include attendance in person or by phone at four to five meetings a year which typically last two hours. Some additional outside work may be requested if specific issues or projects arise.
Applications are due by July 31, 2015 to Anne Blackfield, anne.blackfield@maryland.gov. Call 410-767-3652 for more information.
