Utility Bills Assistance Program

Maryland Energy Assistance Program – provides low-income households with assistance paying heating bills and some limited assistance fixing broken furnaces

Maryland Electric Universal Service Program – provides low-income households with assistance paying electricity bills 

Fuel Fund of Maryland​ – provides utility bill assistance to low-income households meeting their eligibility requirements  

Critical Medical Needs Program - Provides expedited as well as accountable energy and efficiency program assistance to medically vulnerable households. Intended to continue or restore utility service. Case Managers must attend a training to become a navigator for the program. After completing this process, they can assist their client in applying for this resource.  For more information on upcoming training, please contact the Office of the People's Counsel at  DLInfo_OPC@maryland.gov.   


Contact your local utility company – some utility companies have programs to assist customers with their bills​
