Want to Work?

The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) is administering the Employed Individuals with Disabilities (EID) program that will allow eligible Marylanders with disabilities to pay a small fee and receive health care coverage. EID provides full fee-for-service Medicaid coverage and  wrap-around services for those with other health insurance or Medicare.

Is Teleworking right for you?

This fact sheet discusses teleworking for employees and job seekers with disabilities.  Telework is working away from the official job site and can be done on a full-time or part-time basis.  Telework may be an option that can eliminate current barriers to employment such as inadequate transportation, fatigue, inaccessible work environments, and the need for personal assistance.

Employment Reports

The Maryland Department of Disabilities partnered with the Jacob Frances Institute (JFI) of the University of Baltimore to compile a report of the employment and earning status of Marylanders with disabilities. JFI used information using the American Community Survey information from 2008 through 2010 for this report. Please find a copy of this report here: JFI MDOD Employment Report (Word).
