For Caregivers
Below is a list of resources available to caregivers who provide care to an individual with a disability.
The Respite Care Program provides financial assistance to pay for short‐term periodic care to individuals with developmental or functional disabilities. Its purpose is to provide a period of rest and renewal to family caregivers while also providing benefit to the care recipients. It is the responsibility of the family caregiver to identify someone to provide the care. The Respite Care Program is funded by the Department of Human Services (DHS), but contracts to agencies throughout the State of Maryland to administer the program. To find out which agency covers your area, check out DHS’s website here or call
